Effect of Antiarrhythmic Drugs on Cardiac Refractoriness, Atrial and Ventricular Fibrillation and Defibrillation

Dr Dorian's laboratory is investigating the mechanisms of the effect of polyunsaturated fatty acids ( PUFAs) on atrial fibrillation and cardiac remodeling in response to stress. We are also studying the cellular, biochemical, histologic, electrophysiologic, and gene transcription and translation effects of PUFAs in cardiac tissues.
Separate experiments in the laboratory study the effects of antiarrhythmic drugs on ventricular fibrillation and cardiac arrest resuscitation.
